It's been more than a month since my last post. It was not an amusing period as I had so many happenings in my life. Apparently, the cons outweighs the pros. Life has not tested my patience like this since the first time I waited for my first girlfriend to hold my hand. The hard truth is I am still stuck here in Singapore. Why I say stuck is because I don't have a job (good thing I still have my wife and food - it always goes together) and I am unable to fly to Luxembourg unless the company who initially hired me changes their mind... again.
Yes, the company who hired me had a change of mind when they decided to pull out the position on the last minute, literally (read: the day I was supposed to book my air ticket). The agent initially told me that the processing of the "Permis de Sejour" (temporary residence permit) will only take 4-6 weeks. However, due to circumstances like there was a long holiday in Europe (which the company didn't take into consideration), it took the processing 8 "bleep" weeks! And as far as I am trying to be patient that a miracle might happen, unfortunately, the company was not able to wait any longer. Of course, they wouldn't know (or care for that matter) that I resigned from my high-paying job here, cleared all my debts, sold most of our stuffs, and bought all the winter clothes I thought I could use in the rainy Luxembourg. But as Eliot Spitzer once said, "Life is unfair and you just have to deal with it".
If you are still thinking (like me) "Where on Earth is Europe?" then look out for my next entry, that is, if I am able to enter that continent.
Where on Earth is Europe?
You are in Europe. You are a toddler. This blog is for you. "Ignorance is a bliss", whoever said that is a legend.

Where do I stay?
This past couple of weeks, I've been trying to look for a suitable accomodation for my 1 year stint in Europe. The units I've seen so far are quite promising. But of course, you'll never know. Just like what hotels do in their websites, only the best photos out of a thousand shots will be picked and posted online. Case in point, I visited Bangladesh last month for a business trip and the hotel room looked "ok" in the internet, but I never thought it would be 10 times worse in reality. I won't go in details on that, as it gives me a depression everytime I think of it.
Unfortunately, the company in Luxembourg (who hired me, if you haven't read my 1st post yet) will only give me free accomodation for a week or two. That is the reason why I started checking even if I am still here in Singapore. Pictures will do for now, I guess. Below are the useful links I have come across so far, in which I have directed the link to the English version for the convenience of non-French/German-speaking people like me:
atHome.lu - the most popular site for agents based on the number of rented homes posted.
Luxweb Habiter - limited to only 3 images per post, bummer.
IMMOTOP.LU - very useful link for me, read below.
The last link was a very good one as you can specifically categorize which type of place you are looking for. I can just choose "Fully furnished apartment" in the dropdown list and the search results would only show me those units with television set, washing machine, and bed. That are my only requirements, anyway.
The only downside in these sites is that mostly, agents post the advertisements so they may ask you additional charges such as agent's fee and other hidden costs which they will only tell you once you have paid the deposit. However, if you are on a tight budget and keen in looking for a "no-agent's-fee" type of unit, then these links might serve you right:
352luxmag.lu small ads - be careful with scammers who require you to deposit into their UK accounts.
Just Landed houses for rent - all-in-one community site which might also help you find a spouse.
If you are still wondering "Where on Earth is Europe?" then look out for my next entry.

Hello World
I am not a blog lover, though I attempted to start up several diaries which I thought would be the next best thing. I am not even an internet lover, though I created an account in every single social networking sites available out there in the World Wide Web. I am not a hater, either, so don't let me justify why I don't love those necessities in the modern age of living. I am just a guy who happened to be born in an Asian country, moved to another Asian country in my early 20's, and is now being offered an enticing job in a European country. The hell about me, let's talk about what this blog is "supposed to be" all about.
As fickle-minded as I am, my brain is still confused on what this blog should be categorized. I don't want it to be purely a humour blog as some of the facts I will put here might not be taken seriously (if there would be readers other than myself in the first place). I don't want it to be a photo-cum-travel blog, either, as it irritates me spending minutes of my time uploading gigapixel-sized images of my lousy shots. At least, I know what I don't want it to be... but what I want it to be, I am not exactly sure of. Let's just pretend this is a personal blog and its contents are going to be based from my experience. In other words, I will be entitled to my own opinion and this site will be highly moderated.
If all goes well accordingly (else this blog would be a failure), I am a few days or weeks away (depending on the urgency of the good people processing my work permit) from moving to Luxembourg. It is in Europe. It is also a country, a very small one, somewhat like the European version of Singapore in Asia, where I currently reside. It is bordering France, Belgium, and Germany, the more popular countries in Europe. I found out these geographical facts only the minute a company called me and was interested in my services. I asked myself, "Where on Earth is Luxembourg" and so, my friend, "Google", was there to help me. Unfortunately, aside from these limited information, I found minimal results about the country. And so, I started this blog, and the rest should be history in the making.
If you are still asking yourself, "Where on Earth is Europe?" then you should patiently wait for my next entry.
